As part of World AIDS Day 2014, Apple has officially revealed the Gift Card values for eligible products able to yield donations to the Global Fund, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, iPod, Apple TV, and Beats audio products.

In a smart move, Apple has coupled the world’s most exciting shopping event with a (PRODUCT)RED sale, offering amounts between $25 / €25 and $100 / €100 for Gift Cards yielded by the purchase of a qualifying product.

Card amounts

iPhone yields a $50 / €50 card, iPads a $50 / €50 card, Macs a $100 / €100 card, iPods a $25 / €25 card, the same for Apple TV, and the same for “qualifying Beats products.”

Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said his company is endlessly proud to support (RED). The Apple boss emphasized that the company headquartered at 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California regards these gifts cards as “the most important gift anyone can give,” echoing statements from the widely publicized Bloomberg essay on equality.

“For eight years, our customers have been helping fight AIDS in Africa by funding life-saving treatments which are having a profoundly positive impact. This year we are launching our biggest fundraising push yet with the participation of Apple’s retail and online stores, and some of the brightest minds in the App Store are lending their talents to the effort as well,” he said.

Those who buy a qualifying product on November 28, 2014 “may” be entitled to receive a (RED) iTunes Gift Card in the amount specified in the paragraphs above that can be used at the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, and iBooks Store. That is because all gift cards will be handed as long as supplies last.

On Monday, December 1, Apple will also donate a portion of every retail and online sale to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Qualifying products

To make sure you qualify for the (RED) cards, you need to know what products qualify for the deal. On the Mac front, those include iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac with Retina 5K display, and MacBook Pro with Retina display.

Qualifying iPhones obviously include the newest models – iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6 – as well as iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. In the tablet realm, devices like iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini, iPad Air 2, and iPad Air will also yield gift cards in the amount specified above.

Audio-centric devices include all the current selling iPod nanos and iPod touches, and all Beats headphones and speakers. The Apple TV is also on the list, as noted earlier.
