14 DAY TRIAL // Here are some good news for Sony Xperia Z3 owners, it appears that Android 5.0 Lollipop is very close to being released. Although the Japanese company announced the update will be available by the end of this month it did not share any details on the exact release date.
However, the folks over at XperiaBlog report Android 5.0 Lollipop has been recently approved by Wi-Fi Alliance, which suggests that Sony might be able to keep its promise and release the update this month.
Unfortunately, there's no telling when exactly the upgrade will be available, but considering it was certified by Wi-Fi Alliance on February 16 it shouldn't take too long for Android 5.0 Lollipop to pop up on Xperia Z3 devices.
Sony has been a bit slow with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its latest flagship smartphone, but it's better to get it later and with less bugs.
The Japanese company has recently decided to launch a single flagship smartphone per year, so there will be less high-end handsets that will need to be upgraded in the next years.

The Xperia Z3 will remain Sony's flagship smartphone probably until summer when the company is expected to reveal the next handset in the Xperia Z series.
Until then though, many things could happen as Sony recently announced that it mobile division is open for acquisition or merger with other companies. If that happens, there's no telling what will happen with Sony's roadmap for this year.
Anyway, the best part with Sony is that the Japanese company usually kept its promise when it comes to software updates. You should only be worried about the quality, as Android 5.0 Lollipop is not the best version Google has launched in the last couple of years.
