Most of the basic functions work flawlessly

There have been quite a few Lollipop-related leaks from Samsung’s part in the last couple of weeks, but aside from the videos shown there hasn’t been any ROM available for download until today.

We’ve already seen how Android 5.0 Lollipop runs on Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, but the source of the leak did not wish to release the early build due to some issues that still needed to be ironed out.

Well, it looks like the South Korean company is very close to releasing a final version of Android 5.0 Lollipop, if we are to take the status of the latest ROM leaked online into consideration.

An XDA Developer forum user has just leaked the first working Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM for a Samsung smartphone. Unfortunately, this isn’t a build for an international variant, but one aimed at customers who purchased their smartphones thorough a certain carrier.

The leaked Android 5.0 Lollipop is only for Samsung Galaxy S5 devices purchased through US-based network operator Sprint. Unless you own a Sprint Galaxy S5 (SM-G900P), you won’t be able to flash this ROM on your smartphone.

Flashing this Lollipop ROM will wipe all your data on the phone

Before attempting to download and flash this build on your smartphone, you should understand that this is not the final version of Android 5.0 Lollipop update to eventually arrive on the Galaxy S5.

This means that you might encounter some bugs or various issues while using the phone. You might even find some features that will not work anymore after installing this build.

The good news is the person who leaked this early Android 5.0 Lollipop build confirmed the basic features will function properly even after installing it on the Sprint Galaxy S5.

You will be able to take and make calls, Wi-Fi and mobile data, as well as GPS and camera. However, not all the sensors and their functions have been tested, so some of them may not work as intended.

It’s also worth mentioning that the ROM has been released as a full restore only, which means it will completely wipe your data on the smartphone. Make sure you back up anything you want to save from your phone, before flashing the Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM.

The leaker of this early Android 5.0 Lollipop build stated that this would be the only ROM leaked before the arrival of the official version, so it wouldn’t get the sources of the leak in trouble.
