While Microsoft continues to work on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, its partners continue to launch smartphones in their native countries.

QMobile is a Pakistani company that had the courage to put some resource into bringing a Windows Phone in Pakistan. The new smartphone is called QMobile W1 and will soon go on sale for just $68 (€63) outright.

“We are excited to welcome QMobile’s W1 device to the Windows Phone family. The W1 enables more customers to personalize their Windows smartphone experience with capabilities like Live Tiles and Action Center,” said Peter Han, vice president of Worldwide Marketing, OEM Division, Microsoft Corp.

Windows Phone fans in Pakistan should know that this is an entry-level smartphone, which is probably meant to test whether or not there's a market for Microsoft's platform in this country.

Specs are on the very low-end

The smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

QMobile W1 is powered by a 1,950 mAh battery and sports a 4-inch Liquid Crystal Display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, WMPU reports.

We also know that the W1 packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper, which features LED flash and video recording. The smartphone seems to come with front-facing camera as well.

It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone ships with Windows Phone 8.1 operating system right out of the box and that it will be available from all QMobile Outlets, Mobile Galleries and franchises across the country.

“I am very excited about QMobile’s new offer. Our customers will now be able to enjoy easy Windows browsing, enabling everyone to be even more connected to the world and bringing quality to their personal handsets,” concluded Mr. Zeeshan Akhtar, CEO - QMobile.
