LG continues to launch new mid-range smartphones in the F series, although we don’t know how popular these devices have become and in each part of the world they are selling well.

Anyway, the last on the list of F series smartphones is the LG F60, which has just been announced by the South Korean company. The mid-range Android phone will be available of purchase beginning this week in Europe.

LG confirmed that the F60 would be released in Asia and Americas soon after. Unfortunately, aside from the fact that this is an affordable smartphone, the South Korean handset maker did not announce any details regarding outright price.

The good news is that we have the full specs list of the F60, so those who consider buying this mid-range smartphone should read on to learn more on what this device has to offer.

First of all, LG is advertising the F60 as one of the most affordable mid-range smartphones that offers 4G LTE connectivity. Aside from that, the smartphone offers standard features for a mid-range device.

For example, the smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM. In addition, the LG F60 will pack either 4 or 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

LG F60 sports a decent 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display, which, sadly, supports only WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution.

On the back, the F60 has a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, autofocus and video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

LG F60 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and LG proprietary UX

Besides 4G LTE, the mid-range handset offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS support and NFC (Near Field Communication) connectivity options. The phone’s 2100 mAh removable battery has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

When it comes to software, the F60 will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box. On top of the latest version of Android, the smartphone runs LG’s proprietary UX, which contains specific features that are only available on LG handsets.

We’re talking about Knock Code, which allows users to unlock the F60 with a personalized “knock” pattern, as well as Touch & Shoot, Gesture Shot and Front Camera Light.

The latter adds more illumination to the subject’s face by displaying a bright white light around the preview screen in self-portrait mode.

According to LG, more details on retail locations and price will be announced in local markets close to launch, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
