Acer announced the affordable Liquid M220 smartphone powered by Windows Phone back in February during Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The handset is already available in more than 50 countries now, but US customers still can't get it from their county. However, this will change beginning June, as Acer confirmed its Liquid M220 will be available via Microsoft Store in the United States.

Acer has just announced that Liquid M220 will go on sale at Microsoft Store for just $80, which is a decent price for an entry-level smartphone.

Since we already know everything there is to know about Acer's low-end smartphone, here is a highlight of what Acer Liquid M220 has to offer in terms of specs.

First of all, the smartphone sports a rather small 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that support 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

On the back, Acer's affordable handset packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera with fixed-focus.

Dual-core CPU may not be on everyone's liking

The main downside of the Liquid M220 is the fact that it's powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200, which is a bit low by today's standards.

The good news is the handsets is packed with 1GB of RAM, instead of 512MB which would have made things even worse.

As expected the handset packs only 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Last but not least, Acer Liquid M220 is powered by a replaceable 1,300 mAh battery and offers the usual connectivity options like 3G, Bluetooth 4.0 with EDR, as well as Wi-Fi and GPS with AGPS support.

Although the Liquid M220 ships with Windows Phone 8.1 right out of the box, Acer confirmed that the smartphone is upgradeable to Windows 10 once available.
