ASUS is a well-renowned tech giant producing all kinds of gadgetry, but the company is probably best known for its laptops. And the latest model to come out under the ASUS banner will certainly impress a lot of you.

We’re talking about the ASUSPRO Advanced BU201, which has just popped up on the company’s official website, with its own dedicated product page (as spotted at Notebook Italia).

The product belongs to the professional Ultrabook category and packs a lot of nifty features under a really compact hood.

ASUSPRO BU201 is a professional ZenBook

The design is obviously inspired by the famous ZenBook line, but ASUS has taken things to a whole new level here. For example, the outer shell is made of carbon and is MIL-STD 810G certified in terms of resistance to shocks, falls and pressure.

Despite being quite indestructible, the ASUSPRO BU201 remains an Ultrabook in shape, being just 20.6mm / 0.8 inches in profile and weighing just 1.27 kg / 2.7lbs.

ASUS uses a bunch of metal Brackets in order to amortize the internal hard disk, in the eventuality you might drop the laptop on the floor. The notebook takes advantage of ASUS HDD Protection, so your data should remain safe in case you end up bruising the device.

Moreover, the protection the BU201 will offer not be not only physical, but also informational. The device is equipped with SmartCard reader, TPM chip for encryption of sensitive data, biometric sensor for fingerprint reading.

The ASUSPRO BU201 offers support to Intel AMT (Active Management Technology) and vPro and comes equipped with ASUSPRO Business Center, which is a solution to managing security parameters.

Future users will probably like the fact that the laptop comes with the ability of opening up the display with 180 degrees. On top of that, it takes advantage of an ergonomic keyboard and backlit keyboard.

As for raw specifications, the laptop comes with a 12.5-inch Full HD display (1920 x 1200 pixel resolution) and can be fitted with Intel’s fourth-gen Core i5 or Core i7 (4510U or 4650U from the Haswell family) plus up to 12GB of RAM.

ASUS offers various storage solutions including a classic 500GB / 1TB hard drive or a hybrid 500GB with 5400RPM solution with an 8GB SSD.

Other highlights of this business Ultrabook include three USB 3.0 ports, mini DisplayPort, VGA video outputs, audio jacks for headphones and microphone, RJ45 plug for wired networks, Kensington security and card reader 4- in -1 (SD / SDHC / SDXC / MMC), 720p webcam, audio system with ASUS SonicMaster Lite and MaxxAudio.

Last but not least, there’s a 4200 mAh battery, but we’re not told how much this translates into in terms of usage.

For the time being, pricing and availability information hasn't been revealed yet.
