Jennifer Lopez was one of the performers at Sunday’s American Music Awards 2014, closing the show with a flawless rendition of a remix of her new single with Iggy Azalea, “Booty.” Hours earlier, Jennifer had already given audiences at home a taste of the treats to come, by walking the red carpet in the most revealing dress she’s put on in years.

It’s not a secret anymore that Jennifer is one of the hottest female entertainers on the scene, just like it’s no secret that she has a body to die for, a figure in which she invested lots of time and effort.

With all that, after the AMAs, the Internet was shocked by the realization that she’s 45 years old. A vampire, she must be.

Before we get to the actual reactions of those who had never thought of Lopez’s age before the AMAs 2014, here’s what you should know, in case you missed the awards gala.

JLo did the red carpet like many other celebrities, but unlike them, she slayed! She wore a Reem Acra blush dress whose upper part translated like a scarf she had tied over her breasts. With all that, she didn’t look cheap and she most definitely didn’t look trashy, even though she had her steel abs on full display and perhaps a more risky move would have made her breasts pop up.

To offset the revealing dress, Jennifer opted for a simple, slicked back hairstyle, heavy smoky eyes and a nude lip.

And that was just the beginning because, once she took to the stage with Iggy, she silenced even her last critics by bringing the house down with a dance-heavy performance. As for fashion, she still went for “fierce,” rocking sparkly bodysuits that showed off her ample but very fit backside and strong legs.

This said, it’s no wonder people were talking about her during and after the AMAs. However, it seems that few realized that she was 45 years old (and a mother of twins) because “Jennifer Lopez is 45” became a trending topic on Twitter within hours.

As of the time of writing, people are still shocked that she’s 45 and can look this flawless. She must be a vampire… or she works really hard for her body, which we know she does because she’s spoken about it quite a few times in recent months.

The flipside: you’re a mom, put it away!

All this adoration doesn’t come without a negative side, as you probably imagined. While most of those who comment are in awe of Jennifer’s body and of her commitment to staying healthy and fit, there are also those who think she’s too old to be trying to keep up with the young folks this way.

In other words, the fact that she’s 45 isn’t to her advantage because it means she should not act like the Miley Cyruses and the Rihannas of the world, trying to shock audiences into buying their music through raunchy imagery.

Because she’s 45, she should start acting her age, they say – whatever that means. But whatever it means, it doesn’t involve stripping to a uni onstage and dancing the way she does, or booty poppin’ with Iggy Azalea.
