Many people only dream of seeing Obama, let alone sit at the same table as the U.S president, but it seems that one Utah resident was among the lucky few.

A Reddit user recounted the story of how one of his colleagues ended up in the same room as the president and alongside many other important people.

President Obama visited Hill Air Force Base on Friday to take part in an event on economy given that Utah was one of the two states that the president had not visited since he had taken office.

As expected, every citizen was excited that the president would visit their state although most of them were in the dark about anything else related to the upcoming visit.

The company seems to have made a mistake

The Redditer stated that his company had received an invitation for one person to attend the meeting. Probably thinking that they were actually referring to someone to sit back in the audience and listen to a tedious speech, they decided to send one of their employees to do the dirty work.

What they did not know was that the invitation was in fact for someone to actually take part in the meeting which had gathered round some of the most important names in the state.

“Turns out they wanted the representative for a special round table with the president. Due to this mix up we sent my friend (a leader in our CAD dept) instead of the CEO,” the Redditer wrote in a post.

He even included a photo from the event to prove his sayings, and if you look closely, there is actually a man there sitting awkwardly. You can’t really miss him, since he is the only one not wearing a suit.

The commenter also reported that the mistake was due to the fact that the White House had failed to provide exact information about the visit and about the event altogether.

However, a company representative declared for The Business Insider that the White House had actually sent the invitation to that person and that they had specifically asked him to wear casual clothes.

But there are some things that don't add up, like why they refused to also provide the reason behind this weird request, and why in the officially released photos they decided to simply crop out the poor man.
