6000 mAh charger doubles as Bluetooth gamepad

An Indiegogo campaign started on December 15 with a modest goal of just $1,000 (€815.66) has surpassed its creator’s expectations eight times over and is on its way to fruition. The bad news is there’s still a lot of waiting to be done.

For only $49 (€40) pledged in the campaign – which has about two more months to go – you’ll be able to secure what appears to be a sleek 6000 mAh charger that doubles as a fully functional Bluetooth gamepad for your iPhone or iPad.

Charges up to two devices at once

You read that right. Not only can this thing fully juice up your iPhone four times in a row, but the iPac-Man also supports two devices at once, meaning you can charge both your iPhone and your iPad, and even do some gaming on the side while you’re at it.

The ads suggest you can do better racing and shooting with this accessory (which is probably true), as well as multiplayer. There’s a VIP version that looks killer and includes the mount for iDevices for a console experience. It’s three times more expensive than the base version.

“Until there is a real breakthrough in battery technology, a portable charger might be the best solution. We developed amazing multifunctional device for you. With 6000mAh, our device’s elegant design makes it very comfortable to handle. There is USB and Micro USB ports, so it can charge two devices at once. You get a 23cm cable in the box with it,” says the team behind the product.

Buy now and get the mount and shipping for free

If you pluck that $49 (€40) right about now, the iPac-Man Group promises to throw in the mount and the shipping for free. It isn’t clear for how long this claim has been up on the campaign’s page, but it seems awfully coincidental (and arbitrary, with 54 days to go) for it to have popped up just as we stumbled across the product. Nevertheless, the offer seems to be valid.

As for why this thing is also a controller, the team explains that “it is hard not to feel like we have taken a step backward as we strain to look past our own fingers in titles like Minecraft and Zenonia,” referring to the nature of touch-screen gaming. “Some games are just more fun with real analog sticks and a full gamut of triggers and buttons,” the team concludes.
