Numerous other changes have been made as well

A new Beta version of the Opera Internet browser has been announced by the Opera Software, and the developers have brought a couple of new features, along with a ton of other changes and various improvements.

Now that the stable Opera 30 has been made available for all the supported platforms, the developers are ready to move on to the next things, and it looks like there is still some room for improvement. Not everything that's been added to the application is visible on the surface. Some of the modifications made to the software are about optimizing resources and speed.

This might seem a little bit ridiculous since Opera is already an extremely fast Internet browser, much more than the Chromium base. It's a testament of just how much effort it's put into a single application, and it looks like things can only get better.

Opera 31 Beta is out and ready for testing

"After the positive feedback to our improved bookmark manager, we decided to implement its style in the Discover feature. Now, its categories list is on the left, similar to the visual bookmarks setup. Language and country settings are now found under the Settings option. We have also made some improvements to speed up the browser, especially for devices using traditional hard drives," reads the official announcement.

According to the changelog, libnotify notifications have been finally added, dpkg 1.17 features have been implemented, the Pepper Flash finder now checks the plugin’s architecture, a missing close button in the maximize state in Gnome Shell has been implemented, and the 32-bit version now compiles properly.

More details about this release can be found on the official website. You can download the latest Opera 31 Beta version from Softpedia. This is not a stable release, so it's likely users will encounter bugs. The Windows and Mac OS X versions can be downloaded from the same page.
