Opera Software proudly announced earlier today the immediate availability for download of the Opera 28 web browser for all supported operating systems, including GNU/Linux, Android, Mac OS X, iOS, and Microsoft Windows. While Opera Mini for iOS was updated today to version 10.0.0, Opera for Android was also updated with bookmarks synchronization.

The brand-new Opera 28 web browser, which is based on Chromium 41.0.2272.76, has been promoted to the stable channel on March 10, introducing support for synchronizing bookmarks across all sorts of devices where Opera can be installed, including computers, tablets and mobile phones.

“Synchronization has been one of the top priorities on our feature list, and it’s been one of the most requested features. So, we’re excited to take the first step in bringing you a complete data-syncing experience. We hope you like our new, improved synchronization feature,” says Zhenis, Opera Software’s product manager of Desktop Products.

How does the all-new bookmarks synchronization functionality work in Opera 28?

First of all, please take a look at the header image above to see a diagram of how Opera synchronizes bookmarks across all your devices. The all-new bookmarks synchronization functionality merges bookmarks from each device where Opera is installed and you are logged in with your free Opera account. To enable it, you will have to click the sync icon.

In addition to the bookmarks sync support, Opera 28 integrates bookmarks into the search suggestions of the address bar, offers better full-screen support and “vibrancy” of the address field for Mac OS X, and updated themes. A detailed changelog of this release can be found here.

As usual, you can download the latest Opera 28 web browser for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows right now via Softpedia or directly from the application’s website. Please note that Opera 28 is available only as a 64-bit DEB package for Debian/Ubuntu users.
