Olivier Martinez is slowly but surely making for himself a reputation of a man who is very quick to get angry – and what’s worse, who is just as quick to act on that anger. The actor is now being investigated for battery after a melee at LAX airport, when he used a baby carrier to knock an LAX employee to the ground.

The entire thing was captured on camera and the man who was knocked down has filed a complaint, so the actor is looking at being charged with battery.

Martinez was in no mood for the paps

Olivier Martinez has snapped at paparazzi before, occasionally threatening and shoving them when he felt like they got too much in his personal space – which, by the way, they tend to do.

LAX is usually swarming with paparazzi and they jump on a celebrity the instant they lay eyes on them, and don’t stop pestering them until they’re out. That also involves making nasty comments about their work or their family, and saying a lot of stuff just to get a reaction out of them.

Most of the times, these things are meant to provoke them into an act of violence, so they can get their money shot and hopefully the chance to file a lawsuit and make some money.

This time, though, it was different because the paparazzi hadn’t even gotten the chance to start tossing around questions and / or derogatory remarks.

It became clear from the second Martinez stepped out of the elevator that he was in no mood for the increased attention, so, while wife Halle took care of their 2 kids, he used the baby carrier in his arms to knock a man down, apparently without provocation.

Video of the whole thing is embedded below.

Pending lawsuit and investigation

To Olivier’s bad luck, his victim wasn’t a paparazzo: he was just an LAX employee who happened to be around at the same time he and his family came out of the elevator. From the video, the only thing he did “wrong” was being in the place the actor was in at that time, because it doesn’t look like he said anything to offend the star.

Still, the police officers with Martinez and his family didn’t as much as cast a second glance towards him.

TMZ reports that the victim filed a complaint against the actor, and because he was complaining of abdominal pains, received medical attention on-site. He was also taken to a nearby hospital for further investigation.

Martinez is now being investigated for battery, but is yet to address the melee in any way.
