There are a heck lot of bizarre pieces of jewelry in this world (take teeth gems for example), but it's safe to assume that the creations of industrial designer Naomi Kizhner are by far the weirdest.

In fact, this artist's jewelry is best described as a combination of downright insane and positively macabre. Then again, this might just be why folks appear to have taken quite a liking to them.

Not to beat about the bush, the pieces of jewelry developed by Naomi Kizhner connect to the wearer's veins. As if this weren't freaky enough, it appears that they are designed in such ways that they can harvest energy from blood flow.

Mind you, the jewelry is not meant to be worn by regular folks going about their daily routine. More so seeing how the pieces generate way too little energy to be able to actually charge gadgets or gizmos.

As explained by ILF Science, Naomi Kizhner created these pieces looking to draw attention to the need to safeguard the planet's natural resources and promote sustainability. Mission accomplished, if you ask me.

“The work delves into a world in which there is a significant decline, which forces humanity to seek all the more forcefully for alternative ways of cultivating power,” the designer commented on this project in a statement.

“The suggested solution to the dilemma is based on the idea of biological wealth, harvesting energy directly from the body,” she went on to detail.
