The big announcement coming out of the recent Oculus Rift-focused press conference is the fact that the consumer version of the virtual reality device will come with an Xbox One controller, a wireless adapter that works with Windows 10, and the ability to actually stream a lot of titles from the Microsoft home console.

But the company working on the VR solution says that it will also create its own dedicated controllers that are designed to introduce a new way for gamers to navigate the world around them.

The name for the Oculus Rift controller is Halfmoon at the moment and includes both buttons and analog sticks that can easily be held in each hand and integrate wireless tech, haptic feedback and can detect how the user is moving his fingers.

Gamers can issue commands via a thumbstick, two programmable buttons, an analog trigger, and a hand trigger.

It seems that Halfmoon can be used at the same time as a traditional controller.

It's unclear whether the new special controllers will be shipped at the same time as the Oculus Rift headset in the first quarter of 2016 or gamers will have to wait for a few more months in order to get them separately.

Edge of Nowhere is the first major title created specifically for the device

Oculus Rift has announced that it is working with Insomniac Games in order to create a new title that will use all the unique elements of virtual reality, which will probably ship at the same time as the headset.

It is called Edge of Nowhere and will take gamers to the Arctic in search of a lost expedition.

Insomniac Games says that working on the Oculus Rift has been educational and that they are planning to deliver a complex and thrilling video game experience.

The organization working on the virtual reality solution says that it is spending more than 10 million dollars (9 million Euro) to encourage indie developers to deliver titles for it.

At the moment, video games are also created by the likes of Square Enix, Harmonix, Carbon, Gunfire, CCP, and High Voltage.

At the moment, none of these projects has an actual launch date attached.
