The selfie trend is gaining new fans these days, and Microsoft, just like any other tech giant out there that wants to make the most of every single such opportunity, brought out its very own smartphone supposed to help users take selfies easier than before.

The Nokia Lumia 735 is now promoted as the right choice for users who take selfies on a regular basis, and a new ad released by Microsoft in Italy comes to highlight the real capabilities of this new device.

It’s a well-known fact that without a proper device, taking a selfie could be quite a challenge, and that’s exactly what Microsoft and Nokia try to suggest with the new video called “Selfie drama. Stop the violence!”

Supposed to be funny from the very beginning, the video shows a bunch of people disfigured by the smaller angle and frames of regular front-facing cameras, obviously pointing to the new Windows Phone model as the easiest way to take a selfie.

5MP front camera for the Lumia 735

Ever since it announced the selfie phone, Microsoft promoted the device as the right choice for users who want to take a photo on the go without accepting the compromises that a front-facing camera usually brings, including lower quality and no face detection.

As a result, the Lumia 735 is built exactly to tackle these two issues, so it comes with outstanding features for those in love with taking selfies.

First and foremost, the device runs Windows Phone 8.1 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU and features 1 GB of RAM.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the device is shipped with a 6.7 MP back camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, and LED flash, but also with a front-facing camera with 1080p and 5MP.

Of course, it’s not all about the megapixels, but the sensor itself, so the device was designed to offer a wide angle that could help you capture selfies with friends without cutting photos due to the limitations of your camera.

“Introducing the smartphone built for selfies and Skype. Fit more in your shots than ever before with the wide angle, 5 MP, front-facing camera on the Lumia 735. It's never been easier to capture more of what’s going on behind you – more friends in your group selfies and more family in your free video Skype calls,” Microsoft said when announcing the phone earlier this month.

Other technical specifications including a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, 8 GB of internal storage with microSD support for cards up to 128 GB, Wi-Fi, microUSB port, and wireless charging.
