Nintendo has recently revealed its official results for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, and now the company is ready to offer the initial details about a new reward system for gamers, which is very ambitious in its goals.

The video game maker and publisher is aiming to make sure that it can create a bridge between dedicated systems, like the Wii U, the 3DS and the new NX platform, and the experiences that it will launch on smartphones.

Satou Iwata, the leader of Nintendo, tells investors, as quoted by the official company site, that "While we will announce the details of this integrated membership service at a later date, I can share with you at a high level the idea is that the consumer can access multiple devices using one common ID. We will offer advantages to consumers who use one ID across multiple devices."

It seems that the Club Nintendo infrastructure will not be used in any way for the new system, and as it turns out, the current reward system is set to be entirely shut down on September 30 of this year.

However, the company wants to make sure that all data associated with a customer, regardless of the platform they are using, is stored in one place, including purchases and gameplay records.

No launch period or name has been mentioned for the new service

A loyalty program has always been one of the core elements of the Nintendo experience, but it seems that the new one is designed to be more ambitious than any previous incarnation.

The NX platform is the next hardware iteration from Nintendo, which does not yet have a launch period.

No details about its capabilities have been offered so far, and an official reveal will probably only happen in 2016.

Nintendo has suggested that it is aiming to create a system that appeals to a wide range of potential users, as the original Wii did when it was introduced.

In the meantime, the company will continue to support the Wii U and the 3DS and will seek new ways to improve their sales.

The big announcement is that Nintendo will create smartphone experiences, although they will not be full games, and there are also plans to launch theme park attractions via a partnership with Universal.
