Nintendo has just revealed all its different plans for the upcoming E3 2015 event, confirming that not only will it bring back its special digital live stream instead of a formal press conference, but also that it's going to resurrect the old Nintendo World Championships, 25 years after the last iteration of the competition.

E3 2015 is around one month away and millions of gamers are looking forward to the large event for not only major announcements from their favorite companies. The large hardware makers, such as Sony or Microsoft, have already confirmed the timings of their own press conferences, alongside big third-party publishers like Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, or Bethesda.

Nintendo is bringing old and very old events to E3 2015

Now, after a period of radio silence, Nintendo has just revealed its E3 2015 plans, confirming that all sorts of older strategies are making a comeback this year.

First up, by far the biggest announcement is that the Japanese company is going to bring back the Nintendo World Championships competition. After 25 years since the last iteration, the contest will pit some of Nintendo's biggest fans one against the other on Sunday, June 14, a few days before E3 2015 is actually underway.

Qualifying competitions are set to begin on May 30 and more details should drop ahead of that time. As of yet, it's even unclear just what games will be available, although it's a safe bet that the latest Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart iterations will have their tournaments.

Nintendo plans on online and offline events

In terms of the actual E3 2015 event, Nintendo is going to once again hold a digital event on June 16 at 9am PT. The company confirms that it will share news on upcoming game and much more, so expect big announcements.

For those that actually go to E3 2015, the Treehouse will once again be organized and those that aren't in Los Angeles can watch the live stream, filled with Nintendo employees, gameplay demonstrations, and fresh information.

Last but not least, in special Best Buy locations across the USA, Nintendo is going to hold early gameplay demonstrations of Mario Maker for the Wii U. Fans can visit the stores and try out the upcoming title free of charge.
