Nintendo has announced the next wave of Amiibos, the popular NFC figures the company has been selling lately.

The news comes from the latest Nintendo Direct, a show laden with exciting reveals for fans of the Big N, including the lineup of the next wave of Amiibo figures, and the announcement of a Super Mario Series.

This spring, gamers will be able to get their hands on Fire Emblem's Robin and Lucina, Pac-Man, Wario, Pokemon's Charizard and EarthBound's Ness.

The company has also announced which games the new Amiibos will work with. Each of the figures will be compatible with Hyrule Warriors, Mario Party 10, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Furthermore, Robin and Lucina, the Fire Emblem characters, will also be compatible with Code Name: Steam, the Nintendo 3DS turn-based tactics game.

The Super Smash Bros. Amiibo figures will be compatible with the New 3DS variant of the handheld, the only one with a built-in NFC reader, through an update which Nintendo aims to release sometime this February.

A Mario series is coming

Nintendo has also revealed the full list of Super Mario Series Amiibo, which gamers will be able to get their hands on starting March 20. Some of them have already been released alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and now they will be bundled alongside Mario Party 10.

The series includes Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Yoshi and Toad. The figures will be compatible with the upcoming Mario Party 10 game, and the Toad Amiibo will update functionality for Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, where there will be a hidden pixelated Toad for you to find in each stage, after tapping the Amiibo to the Gamepad while playing.

Furthermore, Rosalina, Luma, Donkey Kong and Wario will also work with Mario Party 10, but the bad news is that you'll need to erase a figurine's Super Smash Bros. data in order to use it with the party game.

Gamers will be able to use their figurines as in-game pawns, and will be able to customize their characters with various power-ups that they are able to take with them into each match.
