Logitech announced today the Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 Plus. It’s meant to be a universal home keyboard that will connect with your TV and help you stream movies, music and other forms of entertainment from your couch while being connected to your PC.

The wireless range of the K400 Plus is up to 33 feeds, this way it will make in-house connectivity much easier, and with the integrated touchpad, Logitech hopes no mouse will be needed when carrying this new wireless keyboard.

Apparently, the Logitech K400 became such a popular model that slight updates were added like three sound buttons for Mute, Lower and Louder, and a more intuitive key design was added, making arrows a bit more easy to guess.

Comfy and accessible

The K400 series and K400 Plus were specifically designed for Home Theater PCs in order to give more freedom and accessibility for couch-control. Options are minimal and only the touchpad makes the entire product a true all-in-one option for TV/PC.

However, buying into the Logitech brand does come with some perks as it will profit from the Unifying receiver that is shared by all Logitech in-house products. The receiver is basically a Logitech-branded Bluetooth that can offer high-speed connections between different peripherals in your house, like mice, sound systems and other keyboards.

The design seems to be better and is made rounded and slightly ergonomic for causal use, and with a claimed 18-months battery life straight from the factory it seems that buying new batteries would be a rare issue. Moreover, Logitech offers on its main site a customizable control software that is free to download, offering the user the possibility of personalizing his key and touchpad settings.

In the end, the main advantage of Logitech's K400 Plus is its universality, and that it offers a hub for all its products. Build quality was, unfortunately, poor on the previous K400 wireless keyboard, and if this issue can be solved, Logitech might easily become an entertainment leader, peripherals-wise.
