The Steam client has been updated and it's full of fixes

Valve has just released a new update for the Steam gaming client, and it's a big one. Granted, it's mostly filled with small fixes and improvements, but it's important nonetheless.

A few weeks have passed since the previous major Steam update, so it's time for another one, although it's nothing too impressive. The developers from Valve seem to focus more on fixing problems and less on adding new features. Some of the updates made to Steam in 2014 were pretty important and added stuff like a music player or streaming support. For now, we'll just have to settle with what they've given us.

The direction the Steam client is headed is not very clear. It's becoming more and more cumbersome and with too many small features for its good, but a redesign is not in sight. The devs are patching small issues here and there, but the bigger the application becomes, the more things they will have to fix with each new release.

Latest Steam update is all about fixes

According to the changelog, the web control has been upgraded to CEF version 41.0.2272.104, the CPU and memory usage in the web control have been improved, some problems that caused the CD key receipts to print incorrectly have been fixed, a failure to back up all game content in certain cases has been fixed, the "Verify Integrity" progress box has been tweaked, and the ability to filter the friends list in Big Picture has been added.

Also, a disk management page has been added to settings, the daisy wheel for checkboxes is no longer shown in the Big Picture mode, a crash that occurred when exiting the streaming client has been fixed, and the double-triggering of the Enter key when typing in text fields on web pages no longer occurs.
