Nightfall and Weekly strikes aren’t available anymore

You would think that after the issue with Destiny PS4 players who were locked out from playing the game after purchasing The Dark Below DLC, Bungie would step up its game and make a flawless launch.

Well, while Destiny players who purchase The Dark Below may access the game once again since the new expansion has already gone live, those who do not own the DLC are now unable to play some events that were previously accessible in the standard game.

As per reddit, as soon as The Dark Below DLC opened up, those who do not own the expansion can’t do Weekly and Nightfall strikes anymore.

This means that the new level 26 Strike Playlist is the only one offering Engrams rewards. Given that many Destiny players were planning to farm strikes for Strange Coins for Xur, which is supposed to come this Friday, the fact that farming will not be possible without purchasing the new DLC is annoying, to say the least.

Bungie has yet to issue an official statement on the issue, so it’s unclear whether or not this is a bug or a “feature” that would force Destiny players into purchasing The Dark Below which sounds rather absurd.

Many Destiny players have already stated their concerns on the problem due to the fact that they have already paid for this content, which is not available anymore.

“I have the season pass, and this is serious bull. I feel like recommending this game to friends is going to be harder now: Oh hey, buy the game so we can play together! Ok now buy the expansion so you get content so there is an endgame!”

And here is another fresh owner of Bungie’s Destiny game who has yet to purchase The Dark Below DLC:

“After finally deciding to pick up the game yesterday after trying it at a friend’s house I feel kind of like I got kicked in the [expletive]. I'm short on money which is why I didn't get a season pass, figured I'd just start with the game and by the time I hit max level I'll have more money and will consider getting it then. Even though in all honesty I don't really understand what is being locked out it's not a good first impression to someone like me who was on the fence about trying the game.”

The issue only affects high-level players with access to endgame content

Keep in mind though that the issue only affects players who had access to endgame content, so if you’re just starting to play Destiny, it will take some time until these things get you.

We sincerely hope that this is just a temporary bug that will be fixed by Bungie as soon as possible; otherwise, many players will feel they are cheated and might stop supporting the developer.
