In between all sorts of announcements at Sony's E3 2015 press event, Square Enix and IO Interactive have confirmed that a brand new Hitman game is going to launch on December 8, worldwide, while providing an intense cinematic video hinting at some of the contracts Agent 47 will have to carry out. PS4 owners will get an exclusive beta stage ahead of launch.

The Hitman series has been around for quite some time, but in recent years, developer IO Interactive hasn't exactly gone through the best of times, as Hitman Absolution didn't exactly live up to the expectations of fans from around the world.

A new Hitman game is coming in December

At E3 2015, the studio has confirmed that a brand new Hitman game will launch in December for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The new title doesn't seem to have any connection to previous experiences, so it's simply called Hitman.

It will bring back series protagonist Agent 47, and according to IO's reveal on the PS blog, it will feature the bald assassin at his prime, in order to deliver the "purest assassin fantasy."

"Agent 47 is back, he’s in his absolute prime, taking down high-profile and powerful targets around the world. How to get to those targets, how to take them down, and when to strike - it’s entirely up to you. We provide the sandboxes and the necessary tools, you provide the creativity," IO explains.

Contracts multiplayer is back, PS4 beta is coming

Last but not least, IO confirms that the new Hitman game will bring back Contracts mode and that PS4 owners will get six exclusive missions. They'll also receive exclusive access to a beta stage that will launch ahead of the actual game.

Hitman is going to make its debut on December 8, and IO Interactive pledges to keep it supplied with fresh Contracts and content well into 2016, making it a great investment.
