Bloodborne is just one week away from launch, and in order to get the hype going even more, publisher Sony is just sharing some fresh details about the Hunter's Dream hub world and the myriad of things that can be achieved by players there, from interacting with non-playable characters to upgrading their weapons, spending their Blood Echoes, and more.

Bloodborne is the spiritual successor to From Software's previous titles, such as Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1 and 2, and promises to deliver an impressive role-playing experience that's custom built for the PlayStation 4 console.

New details and a special video are available

In recent weeks, more and more details have been shared by Sony, From Software, and the Sony Japan team, and right now fresh info has just been posted on the PS blog about the Hunter's Dream hub world, alongside a 90-second commercial for the upcoming RPG.

First up, the Hunter's Dream area can be accessed by finding lanterns that are spread throughout the real world of Yharnam. In the hub zone, players can purchase items by spending Blood Echoes, which are earned by hunting beasts and other such things. You can buy items straight from the shop, as well as repair and strengthen your weapons.

However, you can truly upgrade your gear by collecting special items called Blood Gems, which can increase the attack power or add various effects to the weapons.

You can also upgrade your character by interacting with the special Memory Altar in Hunter's Dream and memorize Caryll Runes. Some allow you to carry more items, while others boost the amount of Blood Echoes you can score by killing various beasts.

Sony also mentions that owners of the PlayStation Gold, Silver, or Pulse Elite headsets will receive on March 24 via the Headset companion application a custom Bloodborne Audio mode that's been tuned to enhance the whole RPG.

Until the game's debut next week, check out the new commercial for it below.
