Have a GoPro camera around the house but you don’t want to give it to your kid, no matter how much he begs and pleads because you’re afraid he/she might end up smashing it?

Well, now you don’t have to worry about that anymore. Nabi, a company known for making kid-friendly tablets, has rolled out an action cam designed just for the little ones.

4K video shooting becomes kid-friendly

And the Nabi Square HD isn't a bad piece of gadgetry either. It’s actually a camera capable of shooting 4K video that comes shrouded in a sturdy case, to prevent it from getting damaged.

And even if you take the case off, the camera can survive being immersed in up to 30 feet / 9 meters of water.

In the technical department, the camera is capable of shooting 4K video in 15fps and 1080 video at 60 fps, on top of a slow-motion 120 fps at 720p.

Even better, the camera can quickly connect to Nabi’s own set of tablets, so kids can easily transfer their work on the slates for editing and sharing with friends and family.

The Nabi Square HD will go on sale for $170 / €141 a pop, which is definitely a lot more affordable than 4K-shooting GoPro models.

GoPro’s latest HERO4 Silver, which can also shoot 4K video at 15 fps and comes with a built-in touchscreen sells for a much more expensive $399 / €314 price tag.
