The new release makes reading fan error messages easier

NETGEAR has developed and released a new firmware update targeted at its M7100-24X ProSafe managed switches (or XSM7224), namely version 10.1.0.15, which includes improvements for fan error messages reading, as well as a few more changes.

To come clear with the changelog, the present update adds an order ID to IP ACL {deny | permit} command, and resolves an issue that caused the switch to freeze when using copy command to an SCP destination.

In addition to that, through firmware 10.1.0.15 linking M7100-24X and GS752TXS can now be done using a 1G AGM731F SFP transceiver, and the “dot1qVlanStaticUntaggedPorts” value will be corrected.

Last but not least, auto-VoIP won’t used VLAN 2 by default anymore. Instead, a virtual LAN domain must be configured in order to use the device’s auto voice over IP feature.

When it comes to applying the firmware, first backup your current configuration data (better safe than sorry), save the downloadable archive, login to the web GUI page, and go to Maintenance > Download > HTTP File Download.

Now, click “Browse,” navigate and select the “M7100-XSM7224_V10.1.0.15.zip” archive, and allow the switch to perform the upgrade (it takes about 12 minutes to complete). Also, once version 10.1.0.15 is applied, it would be a good idea to perform a reboot to ensure all changes take effect.

That being said, download NETGEAR XSM7224 Switch Firmware 10.1.0.15, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and upgrade your device’s software to the latest version.
