MikroTik has outed another firmware package compatible with all its routers, switches, access points, and several other devices, namely version 6.21, which fixes the scanning tool and Nv2 kernel panic spotted with 802.11ac wireless interfaces.

In addition to that, this new release updates timezone info to version 2014i, includes VPN configuration for Wifi AP & Ethernet modes, and resolves an SSTP crash problem encountered on busy networks.

If you apply this version, LTE device identification will be changed for units that regenerate MAC addresses, the oVPN client bug that didn’t allow establishing bridge connections will be fixed, and dscp / torch filtering will be added.

Moreover, compatibility with MMC and SD cards has been improved, no license-related errors will be encountered anymore, 6to4 tunnels that had inactive routes are now working properly, and various other changes will be implemented once you update your device’s software version.

When it comes to installing this release, get the proper downloadable file for your MikroTik device and connect to the unit using Windbox.

Afterwards, simply copy the .npk file onto the root directory of the device’s file menu, and wait for the upload to finish. Upon completion, just reboot the unit and check the currently installed version to ensure it has been successfully applied.

Considering the above-described changes, download MikroTik RouterOS 6.21, install it on your network device, and constantly check our website in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
