Windows Insiders are probably anxious to install the next version of Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview because the current build is very buggy.

Although Microsoft has no news to share on the matter yet, they at least updated Windows Phone Recovery Tool software a few times because many Lumia owners could not unbrick their phones after trying to install Windows 10 Mobile.

Microsoft also offered a statement in which it acknowledges the issues that some Lumia owners have been affected by. The company's engineers also confirm they have managed to fix the problems, Neowin notes.

“Our investigation has helped us understand the conditions in which the error could occur. We found two potential causes for this state with the most common being addressable with a software patch which we’ve released today.

“With today’s update, we’ve added support for recovering most devices already in this state. It’s important to note that this update applies to Lumia devices only and will not address phones that may be experiencing hardware related issues.”

Some Lumia smartphone were not detected in previous versions

But beside adding some recovery improvements for Lumia smartphones that were not detected by the previous versions of the software, Microsoft also implemented some bug fixes.

Moreover, since Windows 10 Mobile build 10080 expanded compatibility to HTC One M8 for Windows as well, it made sense for Microsoft to allow those who own this smartphone to take advantage of Windows Phone Recovery Tool too.

This means that the latest version of the software now supports HTC One M8 for Windows, so they can try to put these preview builds on their smartphone without having to fear they won't be able to unbrick their devices in case of problems.

If you don't have the software installed yet, you can now download Windows Phone Recovery Tool via Microsoft's website.
