14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft announced earlier today that it will update its OneDrive application for Windows Phone with new features and improvements. Some of these new features have already been released on other platforms like iOS, but will now be added to the Windows Phone app as well.
The update wasn't released along with the official announcement, but since the rollout has just started, you might as well check on your phones for the new version of OneDrive.
The first and most important new feature included in the update is the option to sign in to OneDrive on your Windows Phone with additional Microsoft accounts.
But there's more, as Microsoft has also added an extra layer of security by allowing OneDrive users to protect access to the application with a PIN code.
By adding a PIN, users will be able to prevent other people who use their device from accidentally (or not) accessing, changing or deleting any files. In order to add a PIN, you can go to Settings page inside OneDrive application.

Last but not least, OneDrive users on Windows Phone will now be able to create and view albums. This is a new feature that was already available on iOS platform but only made it to Windows Phone today.
The Albums update is important for those who store pictures in the cloud and want to quickly access them. With the latest version of the application, users will be able to create an album using pictures and videos from anywhere in their OneDrive.
“And, when you or people who share them with view them, it’s a much better experience: your photos stand front and center, thumbnails are larger, photos are edge-to-edge, and everything is arranged together into a beautiful collage,” says Microsoft in a blog post.
You can now download OneDrive for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 and up.
