No firmware updates for Surface models this time

Today Microsoft rolled out the December 2014 Patch Tuesday updates, but unfortunately for Surface tablet owners, no improvements were provided for their devices.

Microsoft uses each month's patching rollout to release new firmware updates for its Surface tablet models, but surprising, absolutely no version of the device got any improvements in December.

While this isn't really good news for those owning a Surface tablet, it could also be a sign that Microsoft is satisfied with how things are going for the device, so no new improvements are required for the time being.

The problem, however, is that Surface Pro 3 tablets are still suffering from limited Wi-Fi connectivity issues, so new firmware updates were users' only hope that this problem could be fixed.

The Surface Pro 3 is the most advanced Surface tablet to date, featuring a 12-inch display, up to 8 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of storage space for the top-of-the-range model. There are three different CPU configurations available, ranging between Intel i3 and Intel i7, with the latter obviously offered on the most expensive version.

Pricing continues to be a serious issue for consumers, as the most powerful Surface Pro 3 version can be purchased in the United States for no less than $1,950 (€1,500) with no discount applied.
