“We build phones for the doers,” the company says

Ever since Microsoft's former CEO Steve Ballmer stepped down, the company has been all about making people fully productive wherever they go and the new leader Satya Nadella has reiterated the same idea on pretty much every occasion.

“We build products for the people who do,” Nadella said, adding that Microsoft is focused on providing us with solutions that help us get stuff done.

The same idea is behind this new video that highlights some of capabilities of Lumia 640 and 640 XL, both of which have been unveiled during the company's press conference at MWC 2015.

“Doers are the ones who get things done. The ones who act upon their dreams. Doers need a smartphone to help them achieve more. A smartphone with the ability to get things done on the go,” the company says in the description of the video.

And yet, there's one thing that these doers need to take into account when looking at the newly launched Lumias. Most of the doers want high-end phones and neither the Lumia 640 nor the Lumia 640 XL was designed to serve as a flagship. Instead, they're both decent devices that can indeed help you get the job done, but they're still behind more advanced handsets such as Lumia 1520.

Tech specs

Lumia 640 comes with a 5-inch HD screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, a 2500 mAh battery, a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, an 8-megapixel back camera with LED flash, and 8 GB of internal storage.

Lumia 640 XL features a 5.7-inch HD screen with the same resolution but comes with a 3000 mAh battery, the same processor, and a 13-megapixel camera with Zeiss optics and 8 GB of storage space.

Both devices can benefit from additional storage space with a microSD card of up to 128 GB of space. They will go on sale next month and will be available pretty much all over the world, but the release will take place gradually, so it might take a while until it lands in certain countries.
