14 DAY TRIAL // Xbox One owners enrolled in the technical preview program have already received the March system update for their consoles last month, but that wasn't the final version.
However, Microsoft has just announced that the Xbox One March system update is now rolling out to everyone, so if you are the proud owner of an Xbox One console now would be a good time to check for the update.
Most of the new features and improvements included in the March system update for Xbox One have already been detailed by Microsoft. Some haven't been mentioned until today, so let's see what exactly this update brings to Xbox One users.
One of the most important new features is the possibility to take screenshots while playing games. Simply double tap the Xbox button on your controller to capture a screenshot and then press Y to save it. Additionally, you can use your voice (“Xbox, take a screenshot”) to capture an image.
Microsoft also confirmed that the Upload application has been updated so users can now upload screenshots in addition to video clips.
You can also set a screenshot as your background by going to Upload, opening the screenshot in full screen, then pressing the Menu button and selecting Set as background.
You can now report spam messages and add new friends much easier
Party chat enhancements are coming to Xbox One as well, as Microsoft has added two new icons that show each participant their own mic status.
Tile transparency is another improvement included in the March update. This will allow you to set the level of transparency for you background images.
In order to make it easier for Xbox One users to add friends to their lists, Microsoft is rolling out a new feature called “suggested friends.”
Two new methods of sharing your real name on Xbox One have been added too. The new name sharing options can be found under Friends / My profile / Name sharing settings.
A new feature that allows users to report spam has been added to the Message application. In order to report a spam message you need to select it, press A on the controller, select Report, and hit Spam.
