Microsoft launched the Nokia Lumia 635 back in June 2014, as one of the first affordable smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box.

However, the smartphone is a bit weak on the specs side because it only packs 512MB RAM, which isn't enough to run all Windows Phone apps and games in the store.

Those who already own the smartphone will probably feel cheated, but it looks like Microsoft is now preparing to launch a 1GB version of the Lumia 635.

Except for the boost in RAM, there aren't any new changes in terms of specs for the newest version of Lumia 635. When it comes to software, the smartphone will be powered by Windows Phone 8.1, but it's expected to be upgraded to Windows 10 for Phones sometime this year.

As WMPowerUser reports, the Lumia 635 with 1GB has been recently spotted at major carrier Telenor, as well as German retailer Cyberport.

You can now purchase the enhanced version of Lumia 635

The smartphone can already be ordered for €140 ($160), which is about €10 ($12) more than the original Lumia 635 that packs only 512MB of RAM.

For those who don't own the standard Lumia 635 and are still looking for a budget-friendly Windows Phone handset that will eventually receive Windows 10 for Phones can give this one a try.

Here is a short roundup of what the smartphone has to offer in terms of specs. Lumia 635 is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the smartphone packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus with HD (720p) video recording, but there's no secondary camera in the front.

Nokia Lumia 635 feature LTE support and a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

The smartphone is powered by a Li-Ion 1830 mAh battery that offers 650 hours of standby time or up to 12 hours (14 hours in 3G mode) of talk time.
