Microsoft announced earlier this year the gold versions of Lumia 930 and Lumia 830 smartphones, but only launched the former in China.

Beginning this week, Windows Phone fans will be able to pick the gold-trimmed handsets in Europe, Middle East and Africa as well.

Unfortunately, we can't confirm whether or not these special gold-themed Windows Phones will only be available in limited quantities.

There were rumors earlier this year soon after Microsoft's announcement that only 3,000 gold Lumia 930 units will be available on the market.

The fact that Microsoft made these devices available worldwide makes is less likely to be available in such small quantities. Still, if you really want one of these “blinged-out” smartphones, you might want to hurry and place your order.

For the time being, they are available through Microsoft's online stores, but local retailers in various countries, including Australia and the UK, also have them for sale.

They can be had from Microsoft online stores and other retailers

Moving on to prices, Nokia Lumia 830 Gold Edition can now be purchased in Germany for €300 ($325), while the Lumia 930 is available in the UK for £440 (€600 / $650) and in Australia for $600 (€555) outright.

The gold editions of Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 actually come in different versions. For example, there's the Black Gold and White Gold models. This means that the back panels of the smartphones are black or white, while the frame is gold.

Except for the different colors, these smartphones aren't any different in term of specs when compared to the other Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 handsets.

So, there you have it, folks, if you plan on getting any of these gold-themed Lumia smartphones, then you will have to hunt for them at local retail stores because Microsoft hasn't yet confirmed which ones are selling them.
