Even though Microsoft's business in the smartphones industry is far from being successful yet, the Redmond-based company continues to improve its customers experience on Windows Phone.

Once Windows 10 for Phones gets released this summer, more smartphones with the new operating system will be launched later on.

Microsoft even confirmed that its next flagship smartphone would be powered by the new OS, so until then fans will only be seeing some low- to mid-range Lumia handsets being released.

However, it looks like the company has something else in the works, which might be aimed at business customers. The existence of a SkypeBox has been confirmed by a Windows Phone application, WMPoweruser reports.

The new application is called SkypeBox DF Companion and it will be specifically used to manage the device that Microsoft has yet to announce. Here is a description of the Windows Phone application:

“DF Skypebox Companion is used to control the Skypebox. Designed for boardrooms, users Link / Skype Enterprise can buy and configure it without the help of the IT department. You can convert a small room in a videoconferencing room and join business meetings with Lync / Skype for Business.”

The application is now in beta and doesn't have a release date yet

According to Spanish blog MicrosoftInsider, the SkypeBox companion application is not yet available for download in Windows Phone Store.

Still, they have been able to confirm that the application is now in beta stage of development and that only select Windows Phone users have access to it and can test it now.

The latest version of SkypeBox DF Companion application dates from February 25 and there's no telling when exactly it will be released.

We suspect the application will be launched once Microsoft announces the availability of its SkypeBox, though this could take a long time. We'll be keeping an eye out for any additional details on the matter, so stay tuned.
