The Lumia 435 is one of the cheapest Windows Phone handsets launched by Microsoft in the last couple of months. The smartphone is already available on the market since March, but the Redmond-based company did not release it in too many countries.

For example, the Lumia 435 is not yet available in Canada, but that is about to change beginning this week. The word is that Lumia 435 will soon be released in the country at two carriers.

According to a new report, Microsoft's budget-friendly smartphone will be available in Canada exclusively through TELUS and Koodo Mobile for only $90 outright.

This is a pretty good price for such a smartphone that packs 1GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 200 processor, though the size of the display is kind of a letdown.

Even so, the Lumia 435 is a decent alternative to other Android smartphones in the same price range, so many customers may want to give Windows Phone a try.

The smartphone will be updated to Windows 10 for Phones

Although Microsoft Lumia 435 ships with Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Denim right out of the box, the smartphone has been confirmed to receive a Windows 10 for Phones upgrade as soon as the new version of the OS gets released.

Spec-wise, we have already mentioned that Lumia 435 is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, an Adreno 302 graphics processing unit, and 1GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the entry-level smartphone packs only 8GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.

The phone's 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports a 480 x 800 pixels resolution. On the back, the phone features a 2-megapixel camera with video recording capabilities, whereas on the front there's a VGA camera for video calls.

It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone packs 3G support, as well as GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi connectivity, and 1560 mAh battery.
