For business users, printing while on the go is very important, which is why almost all smartphones these days offer mobile printing features.

Windows 10 for Phones will bring support for printing via Universal apps, which isn't yet available because the new operating system hasn't been released yet.

Many new features and improvements for Windows 10 for Phones were demoed at this year BUILD conference, and we have already reported on some of them.

One of the many new functions that will be available in Windows 10 for Phones is printing, a much-needed feature for business users.

According to Microsoft Senior Program Manager Justin Hutchings, printing in Windows 10 for Phones will only be available from Universal apps.

The new feature won't work on Silverlight apps and it will not be available on the Xbox even after upgrading to Windows 10.

However, Microsoft confirmed that printing on Windows 10 for phones would come with support for PCLm, PWG Raster, Open XPS, and MS XPS.

No less than 1,900 supported printers and more to come by fall

Aside from that, the Redmond-based company also confirmed that more than 1,900 printer would be supported, with many popular brands among them.

Microsoft also promised that it would offer additional details closer to Windows 10 general availability and that it would add support for more printers in fall 2015. It's also worth mentioning that Windows 10 for Phones will feature built-in support for saving as PDF.

According to Microsoft, printing on Windows 10 for Phones will only work over network (Wi-Fi), but not via USB. The good news is that you will be able to print from your phone with Windows 10 for Phones, so here is another great feature to be added soon.

Windows 10 for Phones is now expected to arrive as early as fall. Microsoft also confirmed that current Lumia smartphones would receive Windows 10 updates in a staggered manner, but a timeframe has yet to be announced.
