Windows 10 Mobile users can continue to get previews

Even though we're still several months away from the official release of Windows 10 Mobile or whatever its name, people want new details on the upcoming operating system.

In order to quench people's thirst for information, but also for testing purposes, Microsoft has decided to release Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview builds to those who opt for Windows Insiders program.

Those who decide to participate in previews testing are getting updates as soon as Microsoft releases them, but many have started to wonder whether or not they will be offered the option to stay on RTM (release to manufacturing) build once that's pushed live.

The answer to that question came today, as Microsoft's Gabriel Aul confirmed that Windows Insiders will be given the option to stay on RTM build or continue to get new builds as an Insider.

Obviously, that option is not yet available since Windows 10 Mobile isn't finished yet and Microsoft is still releasing Technical Preview builds for people to test.

New Windows 10 Mobile builds continue to be released in the coming months

Anyway, this is good news for Windows Phone users who tend to change their mind more often than not because they will be able to drop Windows Insiders status and remain on RTM build if they want it.

Microsoft recently promised that it would try and release Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview builds more frequently, but then announced that the next update has been delayed.

No reasons for this delay have been given, but it might have something to do with the fact that Microsoft plans to release Office Universal app for Windows 10 Mobile this week.

The Redmond-based company could have launched the new Office Universal app as a standalone update, but Microsoft might have decided to implement it in the next Windows 10 for Phones Technical Preview build.
