Windows 10 does come with plenty of improvements, including multiple desktops, a notification center, a new browser, a modern Start menu, and others, and the technical preview that's available as part of the Windows Insider program allows anyone out there to give these a try.

While users are more or less divided in two different sides when it comes to the new direction of Windows, Microsoft's CEO is already impressed with the new operating system and says that it has features that will change pretty much everything for users, specifically in the way they work every day.

Ever since Satya Nadella took over from Steve Ballmer at the helm of Microsoft, the software giant has entirely changed its strategy and has even adopted a new motto that perfectly emphasizes this new approach: “Empowering people to do more.”

With new products, Microsoft is aiming at giving customers the right tools to be more productive no matter the device, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones. And there's one feature that should make this possible everywhere: Cortana.

Public debut on the PC in Windows 10

Cortana, which is currently available in Windows Phone 8.1, will make its public debut on the PC with Windows 10 and Nadella says that this is the feature that would take productivity to an entirely new level.

“Cortana, that’s perhaps the thing that’s going to change personal productivity even most and especially with Windows 10 and how Cortana comes to Windows, both to the browser as well as to the Start [menu]. I think it completely changes what personal productivity software means from a day-to-day experience,” he said.

Cortana is already available for testing in Windows 10 Technical Preview and is projected to be part of the RTM version as well, so it'll become the one personal assistant for PCs, tablets, and smartphones powered by Windows.

Nadella seems very confident that Cortana will make Windows 10 even more lovable, but that remains to be seen in the second half of 2015 when the new OS is projected to make its public debut.
