The app will no longer be available after December 31

Ever since Microsoft completed the acquisition of Nokia's Devices and Services unit, the company has periodically introduced new changes to the app lineup inherited from the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer, so it shouldn't come as a big surprise that it now plans to kill the Nokia Trailers app.

Microsoft is now informing users who are already running the app that Nokia Trailers would go offline on December 31, so after this date, it would be entirely shut down and would stop working.

As you could easily guess by simply reading its name, the app was designed from the very beginning to provide users with quick access to movie trailers right on their phones, obviously with the focus put on the quality of these videos.

The problem is that, under Nokia's umbrella, Trailers received only few updates, so without any improvements in this regard, most users slowly migrated towards third-party apps capable of providing a similar feature lineup on their Windows Phone devices.

And now it appears that Microsoft has finally understood that Nokia Trailers has no future in its app lineup, so in case you were already running it on your phone, make sure that you start searching for an alternative in the Windows Phone Store as soon as possible.
