Gaming cases can be very large, but they can also be very small. Bitfenix has released one that is somewhere in the middle, albeit still in the lower half due to support for only micro-ATX motherboards and smaller.

Called Aegis, the chassis can hold micro-ATX motherboards but nothing larger. This means that you will be limited in terms of graphics, but not much else.

Even then, a high-end video card should easily cover all gaming needs, even 4K if you get a dual-GPU AMD or NVIDIA adapter.

Besides, there are plenty of micro-ATX motherboards that manage to squeeze in two PCI Express slots, so normal SLI or CrossFire setups are also possible.

The enclosure has enough space for the motherboard, three tool-free modular storage cages which are possible to move around or remove altogether.

A built-in fan controller is included, which is a good thing because you have several cooling options going for you: eight 120 mm fans, five 140 mm fans, or two 280 mm radiators for water cooling. Even a 360 mm water cooler can be installed if the radiator is thin enough.

The large 2.8-inch ICON color display will show fan speeds, temperatures and the like.

Dust filters are included at the top and bottom, since the side has no vents, using instead a large window showing everything within.

Altogether the case measures 255 x 530 x 467 mm / 7.95 x 18.15 x 18.35 inches, while the weight is of 6.7 kilos / 14.8 pounds.

The maximum graphics card length is of 380 mm / 14.9 inches when the HDD cage is installed, longer without it. Long enough for NVIDIA's GeForce GTX Titan-Z and AMD Radeon R9 295 X2.

Availability and pricing

The BitFenix Aegis micro-ATX desktop case should go up for sale sooner or later, but the press release did not include the price or even the ETA. Probably not that long now.
