He is Batman and you’d better not forget it!

There’s this never-ending debate among Batman fans over who the “real” Batman is: is it Tim Burton’s version with Michael Keaton or the newer one, Christopher Nolan’s with Christian Bale? If you ask Keaton himself, there can be only one Batman - and he is it.

The actor first made the comment during last year’s Oscar campaign, when one interviewer asked him if he felt any negative feelings when he heard Ben Affleck had been cast as the Caped Crusader in Zack Snyder’s upcoming film “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

He didn’t, he said. “Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that.”

It could be that the comment was a half-joke, but it still managed to get some fans upset while further fueling the debate mentioned above.

Well, Michael Keaton isn’t backing down. He will be hosting Saturday Night Live on NBC for the third time this weekend, and in the promo just released (video below), he does a Batman voice. Because he can, because he is Batman.

It would be pointless to imagine some kind of feud between Keaton and Bale over who makes the best and realest Batman, but it’s funny how Keaton will use that as comedic material nonetheless. He knows fans will lose it when he makes statements of this type, and he does it because it riles them up.

I imagine him sitting back in his chair and enjoying the madness online afterwards.
