Metro Redux Bundle, which comprises two FPS games Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux, have been finally made available for Linux users and is now available for purchase with a 66% discount.

The new Redux versions for Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light have been released for the Linux users and the publishers also decided to promote them with a massive 66% discount that should allow all the users with powerful hardware finally get a copy.

The Linux release is now really a surprise, as the original versions of the games were already Linux compatible. It just took them a while longer to complete the port and to get everything in place.

The Deep Silver publisher has been very friendly towards the Linux users and they have a number of games ready for the open source platform. It's likely that more titles in their catalog, besides the ones in the Metro Redux Bundle and Dead Island, will be made available.

The Metro games are the best looking on Steam for Linux

Even if the original Metro 2033 was made available quite a while back, it's still one of the best-looking Linux games to this date. The developers from 4A Games have gone back and they improved the engine from the first title and they've done the same with Metro: Last Light, which was much newer.

Very few developers go through all the trouble of upgrading an older game from their collection with a newer engine, but they've done it and the new titles look amazing.

"It is the year 2034. Beneath the ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro, the remnants of mankind are besieged by deadly threats from outside – and within. Mutants stalk the catacombs beneath the desolate surface, and hunt amidst the poisoned skies above. But rather than stand united, the station-cities of the Metro are locked in a struggle for the ultimate power, a doomsday device from the military vaults of D6."

"A civil war is stirring that could wipe humanity from the face of the earth forever. As Artyom, burdened by guilt but driven by hope, you hold the key to our survival – the last light in our darkest hour…" reads the Steam entry.

This is just the premise for the games, but the story goes much further. Both titles are quite long, for modern-day FPS games, and they will provide many hours of fun and non-stop action. The promotion for this Bundle is set to expire on December 15.
