SNK has announced that Metal Slug 3 is coming to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita gaming systems, enabling players to relive an important piece of gaming history.

With PlayStation Experience just around the corner, it's time for Sony to bring out the big guns, which in some cases means some small, pixelated guns from the past.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the AES and MVS, SNK intends to bring some of the most popular NEOGEO titles to current-generation consoles, starting with Metal Slug 3 for PS3, PS4 and PS Vita, compatible with PlayStation TV.

It seems that SNK is looking to bring even more classic arcade games to PlayStation platforms in the near future, because in the latest entry on the PlayStation blog, the company is asking fans for feedback, listing a bunch of games that could make their way to the PS family, provided that enough votes are cast.

The games include Garou: Mark of the Wolves, King of Fighters 2000, Metal Slug X, Samurai Showdown 2, and a lot of others.

Those who are fortunate enough to attend the PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas this weekend will be able to play the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Metal Slug 3 at the SNK Playmore booth.
