14 DAY TRIAL // As promised last week, we’re finally getting a first proper look at Marvel’s upcoming superhero film “Ant-Man,” with Paul Rudd as lead and Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly part of the supporting cast. The first teaser trailer for the film is available below.
Marvel had teased it last week, first with an ant-sized teaser and then with a human-sized one. This is the studio’s most hyped release for 2015, so naturally it went the extra mile to get people’s attention on the day it would finally unveil the first footage from it.
You tell me if it rises to expectations or not.
“Ant-Man” is the story of a con-man named Scott Lang, who is recruited to help save the world. He becomes Ant-Man and has the ability to change size and increase strength and speed. That should serve to make you find that scene in which Ant-Man is riding a mosquito less funny and more action-driven.
In usual Marvel fashion, the trailer is a blend of action scenes, serious talk about the importance of the next mission in saving the world, and comedic timing. As far as that goes, there’s no better man than Rudd to deliver funny one-liners – and two of them are included in this first preview.
“Ant-Man” is directed by Peyton Reed and will bow in theaters in July this year.
