Marvel Heroes 2015 is planning to overhaul its team-up system soon, and developer Gazillion Entertainment has explained some of the upcoming changes.

The free-to-play massively multiplayer online action role-playing game enables you to recruit a sidekick to defeat villains with, and apparently the community has been vocal about the team-up feature for quite some time.

Fortunately, the dev team shares the same outlook, and a revamp of the system is in the cards for sometime during Q1 2015, covering a significant amount of improvements.

Team-up characters will be able to enjoy more customization options, expanded power trees, a bigger level cap, synergy bonuses, increased survivability, and players will be able to more precisely control what their allies do on the battlefield.

Progression will be streamlined, as team-up heroes earn experience alongside you during the adventures, and also earn Power Points, which can be spent just like your own.

More control and flexibility with team-ups

Due to the fact that heroes constantly give each other helpful advice and orders, players will be able to control their team-up heroes by directing them to their cursor, just like Rocket Raccoon does with Groot.

One of the changes made to team-up heroes will be that their cooldown timers will start on defeat and not on summon, in order to balance the improved survivability they will enjoy, and to prevent them from being constant presences in raids.

Gazillion has detailed all of this in a blog entry on its website, and you can also take a look at the game’s forums, where the discussion with the community takes place.

Marvel Heroes had a pretty rocky launch, being criticized for a myriad of reasons and taking a lot of flak from its budding community. Since then, Gazillion has improved the game immensely, taking into account the feedback from its massive community and turning things around.
