14 DAY TRIAL // Just this weekend, one particular rumor claimed that Mariah Carey had thrown a huge fit when estranged husband Nick Cannon threatened her with the release of a tell-all book that would lift the lid on all the gory details of their 6-year marriage. Hours later, they were on an Easter hunt like a family.
If you needed more proof that most of the rumors regarding the relationship of these two are unfounded, it’s probably in the first photo available at the end of this post: that’s Mariah and Nick making an effort for the sake of their two children, twins Moroccan and Monroe.
Mariah and Nick spend Easter together
Mariah and Nick were married after a whirlwind romance, in a lavish ceremony, the kind that only she could think of. Each year, they would renew their wedding vows with similarly lavish parties, and each year naysayers predicted they wouldn’t last for much longer.
Still, they made it together for 6 whole years, and they have two beautiful children together. Nick broke the news of the separation in the second half of 2014, saying he had moved out of the house they’d shared in spring.
As of the time of writing, they are still legally married, which prompted serious speculation on what could possibly hold procedures up like this. The most common theory is that he wants a chunk of her money and she’s not willing to give it to him, but as far as the media knows, these two have been nothing but civil towards one another since the split.
So the photo shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. However, it serves to deny more recent reports about how much bad blood there was between them and how they couldn’t even stand to be in the same room together for more than a few minutes at a time.
The pic was first posted to Mariah’s Instagram, with a simple caption that wished her Lambs a Happy Easter, and was then reposted to Nick’s with the message, “Repost by @MariahCarey Best Easter Sunday @BronxZoo Roc & Roe had a blast finding eggs all over the Zoo! #FestiveFamily #HappyEaster.”
Always family
This is how Nick discussed his separation from the diva: even though they were no longer a couple, they would always be a family because they had two adorable babies together.
Whenever a more vicious rumor emerged online, Nick would fight back with love, saying he had nothing but respect and love for his ex, the mother of his children. He would never speak ill of her, neither publicly nor in private, and he would never do anything to embarrass her or them.
The photo they snapped on Easter shows that he is determined to stick to this promise.
