The development team at Double Fine announces that it is working to create a unique soundtrack for the upcoming Massive Chalice, which is being put together by composers Brian Trifon and Brian Lee White, who are known as Finishing Move.

The game is fantasy based and has a unique aesthetic that the pair is trying to capture in their experimental approach.

Finishing Move has previously worked on major video game projects like Halo 2 Anniversary and the associated Halo Channel on the Xbox One.

The two composers have also worked on music for movies and TV shows and have also joined forces with other artists for compilation albums.

Brad Muir, the project lead working on Massive Chalice, states, “The game doesn't rely on standard fantasy tropes like elves, dwarves, or dragons and I knew that I wanted a unique soundtrack that would match the originality of the game.”

The music of the title will play a major role in creating emotion and that means it needs to carefully underscore the important moments of the experience.

On February 2, the soundtrack of Massive Chalice will be released on Tunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play and Xbox Music.

It’s unclear whether the developers at Double Fine plan on creating a special edition of Massive Chalice which also incorporates a physical version of the music on a separate disk.

The new title from Double Fine is a complex turn-based strategy game that challenges players to work through generations of fighters as they seek to reach their goal.

It was funded via Kickstarter and is the next project for Brad Muir after his work on Iron Brigade.

Launch was initially expected in the fall of last year but the game was delayed, although gamers who are interested in what it will offer can try it out in an unfinished form in Early Access.

Massive Chalice is expected to arrive on the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PC later in the year.
