A new flavor of MakuluLinux Aero has been released

MakuluLinux Aero, a Linux distribution based on the Debian testing branch that uses Cinnamon and some customization that make it look like a Windows OS, has been released.

There are quite a few operating systems out there trying to emulate the look and feel of Windows OSes. This trend has increased in the past few years, and it seems to be more powerful than ever. Users could customize their Linux distros in the past with themes and icons to achieve the same kind of result, but now we see that entire distros are aimed at users who want to have this design by default.

MakuluLinux comes with a large number of flavors, including Cinnamon, Enlightenment, KDE, LXFce, and Xfce. As you can see, a Cinnamon flavor is available already, but Aero is a different kind of experience. You might be able to recognize the launcher, but that's pretty much it.

MakuluLinux Aero is for people who want a change

Most of these OSes that mimic Windows are aimed at users who might want to switch to a Linux distro but are too afraid to do so because they feel Linux is too much of an alien. MakuluLinux Aero tries to fill that gap with a similar experience. It's good to know that this is not a clone but an approximation, at least in terms of design.

"This is a special Build, Requested by the MakuluLinux Community. This build is a Makulu Flavour of a 'similar to Windows Look and feel', it is not a Windows Clone, but rather a comfortable look and  feel for Windows users looking to move over to Linux. The unique Start Menu, 41 window borders, 3 Icon themes, 10 Control themes, 9 cursor themes and 8 shell themes, the combination of  environments at the users fingertips allow them to set their desktop to look and feel exactly how they want," the developer wroteon the website.

To make things even more interesting, MakuluLinux Aero also comes with Steam by default, the WPS Office suite, Wine (used to emulate a Windows environment in order to run games and apps), Google Chrome, and EFI support.
