Video game developer EA Sports is announcing that all those who are engaged in the Ultimate Team mode of Madden NFL 15 are able to take part in a new contest which will allow them to create their own items for the mode.

Fans will be able to work with the likeness of Walter Payton, a legendary running back for the Chicago Bears, and create an entirely unique take on the image which will be used for his item in the coming weeks.

The Design a Legend Contest is open to all interested gamers and the first step is to go to the official site and download the special kit and the instructions which will allow them to create a cool image.

All submissions will initially be evaluated by a team of Madden NFL 15 experts, which will include Ultimate Team art director Christian Casas.

The best four results for Design a Legend will be then put up for vote and the community will decide which one is the best of the bunch.

EA Sports adds, "A player item featuring the winning image will then be made available as a weekly MUT Season bonus player, with another complete version found in packs that week."

Apparently, no other prize than public recognition is offered to the winner of the Design a Legend contest.

Madden NFL 15 is preparing for a new season with more content

The unofficial start of the new season of the National Football League has already taken place with the trades that were announced over the weekend, but there are no matches actually being played, which is a problem for the popularity of a sports simulation.

This means that EA Sports needs to keep Madden NFL 15 attractive by launching a lot of new content, most of it linked to Ultimate Team, and that the company also introduces events that can be used to keep fans interested.

The studio has not said whether it has any plans for another big title update.

EA Sports is also working on the new Madden title, which will be launched in late August of this year, but no official information has been offered about its mechanics so far.
